Scots Consult on Tackling Road and Rail Noise

The Scottish Government has published draft guidance to help identify areas within which actions will be taken to reduce noise from road and rail traffic.
The guidance, prepared by consultant Hamilton & McGregor, explains the process for Candidate Noise Management Area (CNMA) being granted Noise Management Area (NMA) status.
Computer modelling has been used to map transport-related noise in the Glasgow and Edinburgh agglomerations and major roads and railways elsewhere.
