More and more people are enjoying clay pigeon shooting, but it’s a noisy sport. If you are providing clay pigeon shooting you should ensure the noise level from the shooting doesn’t cause a nuisance to local residents which could lead to a noise complaint.
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has published Guidance on the Control of Noise for Clay Target Shooting. This addresses the two forms of clay pigeon shooting ground or site that are typically encountered, namely those operating regularly by virtue of an express planning permission or established use or those operating less frequently under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995.
Dakat can provide noise measurements and assessments based upon the CIEH Guidance and can advise on the appropriate noise control measures.
